Fold Terminal

iOS · SSH client · Built for iPhone Duo

Coming soon to the App Store

SSH with a Mac keyboard.

An SSH client built for iPhone Duo. Half-fold it and it becomes a pocket laptop: the terminal on the top half, a full Mac keyboard and trackpad on the bottom. Folded, the cover screen shows your servers, quick connect and pinned one-tap actions — and your sessions survive every fold. On any iPhone you still get proper esc, ctrl, tab and arrow keys; turn it sideways for a Mac keyboard, or pair a Bluetooth one.

Features

A real terminal, in your pocket.

A full Mac keyboard
Sticky modifiers and ⌘ shortcuts, plus a trackpad that scrolls output and works inside tmux, vim and less.
Ask, on device
Describe what you want in plain English or by voice and get a command to check before running. Runs on device with Apple Intelligence — no cloud.
Explain Output
Get a plain-English read of what a command printed. Connection errors come explained, with the steps to fix them.
Suggestions as you type
Command suggestions from your snippets and recent commands. Snippets take placeholders, so one template covers every server.
Keys done properly
Ed25519, RSA and Secure Enclave keys in the device Keychain. Host keys are verified on first connect, and a changed key is blocked. Install your key on a server in one tap.
Sessions that stay put
Tabs, Face ID lock, and tmux that auto-resumes after a reconnect — so a fold, a lock or a dropped network doesn’t cost you your place.

On device

Your keystrokes go to your server. Nowhere else.

Fold Terminal has no account, no analytics, no tracking and no backend server of its own — it only connects to the servers you add. Passwords and private keys live in the iOS Keychain on this device only, never in iCloud. What you type and what your servers send back is never logged or stored, and Ask and Explain run on Apple’s on-device model, with no Private Cloud Compute.
