Privacy Policy — GymLoop
Last updated: July 24, 2026
This privacy policy describes how GymLoop (“the app”) handles your information. The short version: GymLoop has no account and no server of its own — your training data lives on your device and in your own private iCloud.
Data collection
GymLoop collects no personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. The app makes no network requests of its own, so there is nothing to send and nowhere to send it.
Your training data
Your plans, sessions, logged sets, body measurements, and progress photos are stored on your device. We operate no server, so this data is never sent to us and is never accessible to us or to anyone else.
iCloud sync
If you are signed into iCloud, your training history syncs through your own private iCloud account so it follows you across your devices. That sync happens between you and Apple: the data sits in your personal iCloud storage, governed by Apple’s privacy policy. We cannot read it. You can turn iCloud off for GymLoop at any time in iOS Settings.
Apple Health
Health access is off by default and entirely optional — you turn it on in Settings, and the app is fully functional if you never do.
When enabled, GymLoop only reads two things: your most recent body weight, and workouts recorded by other sources such as your Apple Watch or Fitness+, so they appear alongside your logged sessions. GymLoop writes nothing back to Apple Health — a phone-logged session has no heart rate or calorie data, and adding a hollow entry to your Health record would do you no favours.
Health data read by the app is used only to display it to you inside the app. It is never transmitted anywhere, never used for advertising or marketing, and never shared with third parties. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps.
Progress photos
Progress photos are taken with the camera inside the app and stored with the rest of your data — on your device, and in your own private iCloud if sync is on. They are never uploaded to us and are never seen by anyone else. Camera access is requested only when you first take a photo, and you can delete any photo from within the app.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, GymLoop uses local notifications generated on your device — rest timers and the leave-home reminder. No notification data is sent to any server.
Purchases and subscriptions
GymLoop Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. All of it is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store: we never see or receive your payment details, and no account is created with us. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in iOS Settings, not inside the app.
If a subscription lapses, none of your training data is deleted or withheld — older history simply collapses behind the unlock row and reappears in full if you resubscribe.
Children’s privacy
GymLoop does not collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Health disclaimer
GymLoop is a training log, not a medical device, and it does not provide medical or fitness advice. Consult a qualified professional before starting or changing an exercise programme.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
