Privacy Policy — Vastu

This privacy policy describes how Vastu (“the app”) handles your information. The short version: Vastu makes no network requests and has no server — nothing about you or your home ever leaves your iPhone.

Data collection

Vastu collects no personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The app has no backend to send data to.

Location

If you grant location access, it is used for one thing: computing the magnetic declination that turns your compass reading into true north. Your location is used on your device and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. The compass still works without it — you will simply be working from magnetic north.

Motion

Vastu reads device motion to drive the depth and parallax effect on the compass dial. This data is used only to render the dial and is never stored or transmitted.

Your floor plans and analyses

Floor plans, room placements, saved properties, and generated reports are stored on your device only. They are not uploaded anywhere and are not synced to any cloud service. Deleting the app removes them permanently, so export anything you want to keep as a PDF first.

Purchases

Vastu offers a one-time lifetime unlock. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store — we never see or receive your payment details, and no account is created.

Children’s privacy

Vastu does not collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

A note on what this app is

Vastu reports classical Vastu Shastra analysis with its sources cited. It is offered as a reference tool, not as professional architectural, structural, or financial advice. Where classical sources disagree, the app says so rather than picking a side quietly.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
