Privacy Policy — Lagna

This privacy policy describes how Lagna (“the app”) handles your information. The short version: nothing ever leaves your phone.

Data collection

Lagna has no account, no sign-up, no server, and no database of its own — the entire app runs and stores its data on your device. There is zero analytics, zero tracking, and zero third-party SDKs. Lagna’s App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected.”

Birth details (janma details)

Birth details are the most sensitive information you can give an app like this. They are stored only on your device, in the app’s local database, and are never transmitted anywhere — not to us, not to any analytics service, not to anyone. Personalized ranking by tara bala and chandra bala is computed entirely on-device from those details.

Sharing a countdown

Sharing a Lagna countdown sends only a link containing the event’s theme and timing — chosen by you, sent through your own share sheet (Messages, WhatsApp, or whichever you pick). No data passes through us or any server we run; we never see the link, and neither does anyone else. Recipients open the countdown, including its Lock Screen Live Activity, without creating an account.

iCloud family sharing

Optional iCloud family sharing, when it ships, will sync through your own private iCloud account — the same account you already sign into on your devices. That data sits in your personal iCloud storage, governed by Apple’s privacy policy. We cannot read it.

Purchases

Lagna offers a one-time lifetime unlock. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store — we never see or receive your payment details, and no account is created with us.

Shagun QR posters

The Shagun QR poster studio encodes your own UPI ID into an image you export. Lagna never processes or touches any payment — money moves directly between your guest and your own UPI app, exactly as if you’d shown them your ID by hand.

Notifications

Any reminders Lagna schedules are set up entirely on your device using iOS’s local notifications. Nothing about them is sent to a server.

Children’s privacy

Lagna does not collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
